Michael has been practicing actuarial science since 1992. He joined the IRMS Actuarial Services unit of the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA) in April of 2004. In addition to performing actuarial analysis for IHA, he also provides actuarial services to association programs, insurance companies and self-insured entities in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kansas, Iowa, Virginia and Georgia.
Prior to joining the IHA, Michael spent over six years as an actuary for a major Reinsurance company. As a Reinsurance actuary Michael spent time in both reserving and pricing roles where he was exposed to virtually all forms of Property and Casualty Insurance and many varying reinsurance structures. During his time in reinsurance Michael’s titles included Director of Actuarial Reserves and Second Vice President – Pricing Actuary.
Prior to his experience in reinsurance, Michael spent five years working for primary insurance companies. His main area of responsibility during this time was commercial lines insurance, particularly commercial auto, general liability, and workers compensation.
